NFL News: St. Louis Rams WR Mark Clayton Out For Season

News

Clayton had been a surprise player over the first few weeks of the season.

The St. Louis Rams will be without their top two receivers for the rest of the season after losing Mark Clayton in the first quarter of Sunday’s game with a torn patella tendon.

“I got kicked right in the knee,” Clayton said. “And as soon as he did it, [the knee] was like so hot and I couldn’t move anything so it knew it was pretty serious.”

Clayton was traded to the Rams late in the offseason when the Ravens were clearing room for TJ Houshmandzadeh.

The Rams already lost WR Donnie Avery to injury in the preseason and now will turn to Danny Amendola as the number 1 receiver.
