Mini-Tournament Ordered By IBF To Find Opponent For Wladimir Klitschko

News

Wladimir Klitschko will face England’s Dereck Chisora on December 11 but plans are being made to find Wladimir’s next opponent, should David Haye come up with some more excuses, of course.

The IBF is currently negotiating with fighters for a four-man tournament where the winner would get an IBF Heavyweight title shot, presumably against Wladimir Klitschko. While nothing has been made official, the rumored tournament field would look like this:

Alexander Dimitrenko vs. Johnathon Banks
Eddie Chambers vs. Jean-Marc Mormeck

Wladimir Klitschko has already beaten Eddie Chambers, who defeated Dimitrenko to get the title shot at Wlad. Johnathon Banks is good friends with the Klitschko Brothers, but like Jean-Marc Mormeck, is a converted cruiserweight.
