Odlanier Solis And Ray Austin In Heavyweight Eliminator

News

Odlanier Solis and Ray Austin will fight for the opportunity to face the WBC Heavyweight champion, according to Fightnews.com. Solis-Austin will be on December 17 in Miami, with undercard bouts featuring Tavoris Cloud and Secuk Aydin against yet-to-be determined opponents.

The WBC Heavyweight title is currently held by Vitali Klitschko, who defends his title this Saturday in Germany against Shannon Briggs. Vitali had mentioned retiring after 2010 so the title shot for Solis-Austin may not come against the eldest Klitschko brother.

Odlanier Solis, 30, is 16-0, 12 KOs. He won the gold medal at the 2004 Olympics as a heavyweight for the Cuban boxing team.

Ray Austin, who turns 40 on Halloween, has a record of 28-4-4, 18 KOs. Austin was decimated by Wladimir Klitschko in 2007 but has won all four of his bouts since that loss.
