Frank Warren puts together huge Liverpool show for December 11th

Frank Warren celebrates 30 years in boxing in style on December 11 with another blockbuster show.

After the spectacular success of the Magnificent Seven in Birmingham, Warren will put on a multiple title show at the Liverpool Echo Arena.

Welsh hot-shot Nathan Cleverly will challenge for the Interim WBO World light-heavyweight title after winning a spectacular war against Karo Murat.

And Paul Smith defends his British super-middleweight crown in a mouth-watering domestic clash against James DeGale.

Meanwhile world title hopeful Matt Macklin makes a defence of his European middleweight crown and Sheffield sensation Kell Brook defends his WBO Intercontinental strap.

2007 Amateur world champion Frankie Gavin challenges for the WBO Intercontinental light-welterweight crown as he looks to break into that organisation’s top 10.

And hammer-fisted Tony Bellew puts his Commonwealth light-heavyweight title on the line.

Fight fans will not miss out on the big heavyweight clash of the night – Derek Chisora’s IBF/WBO title challenge against Wladimir Klitschko will be beamed live into the arena.

Smith-DeGale represents the biggest test of either fighters’ career.
And for DeGale, it shows he is prepared to step up in class after George Groves refused to face him.

Groves opted for a Commonwealth title defence despite being offered a career-high purse to face DeGale.

Champion Smith will enjoy home advantage at what will be a sold out Echo Arena.

He has already beaten Tony Dodson and Tony Quigley there. Smith was ringside after “Chunky” beat another scouser, Carl Dilks, inside one round in Birmingham in September.

That performance did little to put him off accepting the challenge from a man who has won all eight of his professional fights, and already holds Smith’s old WBA International title.

Warren said, “I’ve put on some massive shows during my 30 years in boxing and this will be up there with the best. At the moment I’ve got the most exciting crop of young boxers I’ve ever worked with and this show represents the next generation of stars in British boxing. This is set to be a fantastic night with some cracking fights from top to bottom on the card. Smith and DeGale is a fight that everybody wants to see and with exciting youngsters like Cleverly, Brook, Macklin, Bellew and Gavin, plus many more joining them, it will be one huge night for the fans.”
