Super Six Group Stage 3 Settled

News

After weeks of roadblocks in the Super Six World Boxing Classic, all the particulars have been set for Group Stage 3.

A Showtime Sports press release stated that Andre Ward will receive two points for a forfeit win over Andre Dirrell. Dirrell pulled out of the tournament two weeks ago after neurological problems persisted after his last fight with Arthur Abraham. The two points give Andre Ward a total of six heading into the knockout stage.

Andre Ward will face Sakio Bika on November 27 but the bout will not be a part of the Super Six tournament. The fight will, however, be for Andre Ward’s WBA Super Middleweight title. Ward and Bika will fight at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA.

In the final two remaining Super Six matchups, Allan Green will face Glen Johnson on November 6 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Both have zero points and the winner will get a berth in the semifinals.

Also, Arthur Abraham will face Carl Froch on November 27 at the Hartwall Areena in Helsinki, Finland. Both have already advanced to the semifinals.
