Vinicius Quieroz fails post-UFC 120 drugs test, cut from UFC

News

Fresh off his defeat to Rob Broughton at UFC 120 Brazilian heavyweight Vinicius Quieroz has been cut from the UFC after testing positive for the banned steroid Stanozolol. The drugs test was administered by the UFC as there is no commission in the UK, with the organization’s Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Mark Ratner saying that “The UFC enforces the same rules and regulations as the Nevada State Athletic Commission and takes this responsibility to the fighters and the sport very seriously”.

Not only has Quieroz been cut but he will forfeit an undisclosed discretionary bonus from the organization, and details of the test failure will be passed to Nevada State Athletic Commission which may prevent Quieroz gaining a licence to fight in the US.
