Chris Lytle and Carlos Condit to Fight at UFC 126?

News

According to a report at Sportsnet.ca (via Cage Potato), UFC Welterweight fighter Chris Lytle fighter could be on a collision course with Carlos Condit at UFC 126. This comes as a surprise after Condit turned down a fight with Jon Fitch for the same date (February 5th) as “he felt he didn’t have enough time to prepare for the fight.”

A loss to Lytle would drop “The Natural Born Killer” several rungs in the division and almost out of contention for a title shot, something he should be close to given his recent victory over former number one contender, Dan Hardy.

[Update: 2:13 PM ET]

While the fight has been over a year in the making (as the contest was originally in the works for September 2009 before Lytle had to withdraw due to a knee injury), but according to MMA Fighting “reports that the fight would take place at UFC 126 on Feb. 5 are incorrect, according to the sources, and would likely take place at a later date.”
