Miguel Torres to face Antonio Banuelos at UFC 126

News

Former WEC Bantamweight Champion Miguel Torres will compete in the first-ever UFC match to take place at 135Ibs when he faces Antonio Banuelos at UFC 126. The match between the two top bantamweight contenders will introduce UFC fans to the man in Torres that has dominated the bantamweight division before suffering back-to-back defeats against Brian Bowles and Joseph Benavidez. He won a crucial comeback fight against Charlie Valencia at WEC 51 and will look to continue his return to form on February 5th. The match is contrary to an expectation amongst some that should former WEC Featherweight Champion Urijah Faber win his bantamweight debut at WEC 52 that he would face Torres in a long awaited dream match. This would suggest that should Faber defeat Takeya Mizugaki on November 11th that he will earn a quick world title shot in his new weight class.
