Could Strikeforce Promote Jason “Mayhem” Miller vs. Nick Diaz Fight in 2011?

News

After several encounters outside of the cage, it’s only a matter of time before Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker should let Nick Diaz and Jason “Mayhem” Miller get their hands on one another inside the cage as well. Granted, the two fighters would need to agree to meet at a catchweight, but it appears that the organization has discussed facing the two off against one another at some point in 2011.

“It’s something that we’re definitely looking at,” Coker responded when asked on MMAWeekly Radio about a potential Diaz vs. Mayhem showdown.

The two mixed martial artists have let it be known that there is no love lost between the them. First came the post-fight brawl in Nashville, Tenn., where “Mayhem” stormed the cage asking then Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields for a rematch, leading to a massive brawl before a national television audience. The second came in October following Diaz’s title defense win over K.J. Noons, when the two fighters exchanged words in a hallway before a water bottle was allegedly launched and yet another scuffle broke out.

Miller has been asking for the match-up for several months, going as far as re-titling his personal blog DontBeScaredHomie.com, a phrase Diaz is known for.
