Wes Anderson Attracts Major Talents for Moon Rise Kingdom

Casting News, News, Projects

Nothing but the best. Wes Anderson should get a T-Shirt with that slogan embroidered on it to signify the actors he’s been able to amass with his ensemble projects. The Royal Tenenbaums with Gene Hackman, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Stiller among others. Fantastic Mr. Fox with A-listers George Clooney and Meryl Streep as vocal talent. Now there’s word that he’s getting another quality ensemble for his upcoming film, Moon Rise Kingdom.

Deadline is reporting that Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton are all in talks to star in the film, which is co-written by Anderson and Roman Coppola.

Wes Anderson has a strong vote of confidence from billionaire Steven Rales, who served as a producer for The Fantastic Mr. Fox, an animated film that was unjustly ignored by audiences last fall.

The film, Moon Rise Kingdom, is a period piece set in the 1960s about two young adults who
fall in love and run away. Leaders in their New England town are sticking the idea that they’ve disappeared and go in search of them. Norton will play a scout leading a search party. Willis would play the town sheriff who is looking, and who is also having an affair is the missing girl’s mother (most likely to be played by Francis McDormand). Murray would play the girl’s father, who is dealing with his own problems.
