Christopher Nolan Seeking Out Two Lead Women For Batman: The Dark Knight Rises

Casting News, News

Deadline is reporting that Christopher Nolan is seeking out two actresses to fill lead roles in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises, the finale to his award winning Batman trilogy.

One role is said to be as a love interest for Bruce Wayne, while the other would be a villain. The actresses that have been mentioned include Rachel Weisz, Naomi Watts, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Anne Hathaway, and Keira Knightley.

Now, as to what characters these could be, such is unknown at this time, but that means one thing!

Time to guess!

On the villain front, Catwoman would make sense, but Talia would make the most sense as Bruce defeated her father in the first movie. Her presence would bring the series full circle, especially if there is a Lazarus Pit to use.

Vicky Vale is about the only potential non-evil love interest I can come up with from the comics, though both Catwoman and Talia could fill that role.

I’d say Barbra Gordon, but alas, I doubt Nolan is looking to put a girl in spandex, I mean, we all saw what happened the last time we had a Batgirl on screen.
