The weigh-ins have taken place for tomorrow’s WBA Heavyweight Title Match between champion David Haye and former olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison. In front of a thousand fans both fighters recieved a largely positive reception. The fighters weights for the biggest all-British boxing match in over a decade are as follows:
Both weights are something of a surprise. Haye was expected to weigh in light but 210Ibs is barely within the heavyweight limit and is by far the smallest he’s been since leaving the crusierweight division. As for Harrison, with all the talk of his improved training regiment its strange to see him tip the scales heavier than he was in his last fight against Michael Sprott. It would seem that both fighters are trying to maximize their physical advantage – speed in the case of Haye, bulk in the case of Harrison.
The event airs on Sky Box Office at 8pm GMT (4PM ET) and we will have live coverage of all the night’s action here on Inside Fights.
