It was only a few weeks ago that it was announced, only to later be denounced, that Mel Gibson would have a cameo role in the sequel to 2009’s hit comedy. But with Mel out and Liam Neeson in, writer-director Todd Phillips wasn’t done looking for more talent to add to his ensemble of Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha. Word has it that Paul Giamatti is the latest actor cast for The Hangover: Part II.
Currently filming Too Big to Fail for HBO, where he’ll be playing Ben Bernake, Giamatti’s next theatrical release is Barney’s Version, which has been getting murmurs of Oscar consideration.
