Official Title Revealed For Darren Aronofsky’s Wolverine 2

News, Projects

In an interview with Hitfix, Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan, The Wrestler) has revealed that his upcoming sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine will have a much shorter title than the original film. The movie, starring Hugh Jackman as the Canadian mutant with razor-sharp claws, will be titled The Wolverine. Pretty catchy, eh?

Aronofsky also told HitFix that The Wolverine is more of a “one-off” project than a true sequel. Written by Christopher McQuarrie and based off the famed Chris Claremont and Frank Miller comic book mini-series, the movie finds Wolverine in Japan involved in a rmance with a woman promised to another man. This love affair leads to plenty of samurai sword fights and ninja scuffles.

A release date has not been set for the film yet.
