DC Unveils More About ‘The Reign Of Doomsday’ & the Superman connection

News, Top Story

A few days ago we reported the teaser DC released concerning Doomsday, well, today we get some more info. Like that it’s going to be a five part event crossing over five books in 2011, starting with January’s Steel #1. The second part will take place in February’s Outsiders #37, the third part in March’s Justice League of America #55, the fourth in April’s Superboy #6, and the fifth and final issue is yet to be revealed. I presume it will be in May, but I mean, educated guess.

So what’s the theme? Well, we start with Steel who debuted during the Reign of the Supermen after Doomsday killed Superman. Things move to Outsiders, which features another Reign of the Supermen alumni in the Eradicator. One can only presume that JLA’s purpose revolves around Supergirl’s presence on the team, as she was also active in Metropolis during that time period. Superboy is up fourth, and he, like Steel, debuted during the Reign.

So what about the fifth part? Well, Cyborg Superman is temporarily dead, but that happens to him a lot, so it’s either him or Doomsday vs Superman.

Now, just for the sake of it, here’s the solicits for the books we do know, starting with Steel #1….
