Surprisingly Strong Viewing Figures For UFC 122

News

UFC 122 posted a surprisingly strong performance in the cable ratings with its Spike broadcast being watched on average by 2.2million people, earning a 1.4 household rating. It performed very strongly in key demos reaching 2.14 in Makes 18-34 and 2.0 in Males 18-49. This is the UFC’s best performing live television special all year with Fight Nights having generally disappointed whilst last month’s UFC 120 was watched by an average audience of only 1.9million. This is despite the event’s lineup being generally considered to be the weakest UFC event of the year with its headline bout between Nate Marquardt and Yushin Okami being derided as lacking commercial appeal.
