Strike Two for San Diego Comic Con Registration

News

Registration reopened for San Diego Comic Con this morning at 6 AM PST. This was after the debacle of November 1 where the site crashed after only a handful of people were able to register.

Not all that surprising, but the system still is not working. After 3 hours, they finally posted:

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED

Once more, unfortunately, there have been issues with Comic-Con registration. So we have, again decided to close it down. We are well aware that many people have taken time from work, school or other activities and others woke up very early. There really is no way to convey our level regret for this turn of events.

We are currently researching our registration options.

My favorite response was from MikeRoe on Twitter:

Comic-Con apparently spent the last two weeks making a better error message page. #SDCC

This is pretty shameful. And depressing. This is supposed to be my first SDCC. I’ve already started working on my costume. At this rate, who knows if I’ll ever get tickets. My sister describes it as “the world’s worst lottery.”
