With the last episode of “The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck” in the bag, several new match-ups have been announced.
Team Koscheck’s Aaron Wilkinson will face Team GSP’s Cody McKenzie while Team GSP’s Kyle Watson takes on Sako Chivitchian of Team Koscheck.
A quarterfinalist on “TUF 12,” McKenzie was Georges St-Pierre’s 7th pick, but scored a big upset win over Team Koscheck’s number one pick, Marc Stevens to advance before losing via TKO to Nam Phan. Wilkinson was coach Josh Koscheck’s 7th pick as well and battled the death of his grandmother as well as several cuts and facial injuries during his time on the show. He suffered an opening round loss to TUF 12 Finalist Michael Johnson before returning in the “wild card” fight (submitting Marc Stevens), and losing again to semifinalist Kyle Watson.
Both Watson and Chivitchian ended their time on TUF to the same opponent: TUF 12 finalist Jonathan Brookins. Prior to his time in Vegas (which ended in the semifinals), Watson was riding a four-fight win streak. Chivitchian comes back after making it to the quarterfinals, where he lost to Brookins via submission (rear naked choke).
The Ultimate Fighter: Team GSP vs. Team Koscheck Finale takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas with the night’s main card airing live on Spike TV.
