Strikeforce in Talks to Run Show in March to Coincide with Arnold Sports Festival

News

After UFC president Dana White confirmed that their organization will not be making a trip to Ohio during the 2011 Arnold Sports Classic, the table was set for Strikeforce to swoop in and secure the space for themselves.

MMAjunkie.com is reporting that Strikeforce is working on a potential March date in Columbus, Ohio, and CEO Scott Coker has confirmed that the organization is actively working on a deal right now.

“We’re in talks with the (Arnold) organizations,” Coker said. “We think it could be a good fit for us.”

Previously, Zuffa, LLC, the parent company of the UFC and WEC, held events at Columbus’ Nationwide Arena each March from 2007 to 2010, but scheduling conflicts in 2011 mean the company won’t be returning in 2011.
