In this battle of two BJJ black belts, Charles Oliveira is getting a significant challenge in Jim Miller – UFC are definitely taking him seriously. Will this fight line up the winner for a shot at the Lightweight title? Possibly. At 20 years old, Oliveira is still an “un-polished” gem, and while we’ve seen great promise in his grappling, his striking isn’t ready for main event level. Jim Miller is a real test for him; a fighter of Miller’s size and strength will be looking to impose his will upon Oliveira. If Miller can avoid the nasty array of leg strikes that we saw Oliveira tear through Efrain Escudero with, he’ll control the fight. Oliveira is at an age where he’s going to be learning at an accelerated rate, making him very dangerous.
