Trailer Watch: Black Death Makes History Scary

HULU is hosting a trailer for Black Death, a new historical horror/action film from director Christopher Smith and writer Dario Poloni. Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Carice van Houten star.

The film takes place in a plague-ridden 1348 England. Bean and Redmayne star as two holy warriors who travel to find a village that is said to be untouched by the plague thanks to a demon’s blessing.

I’m a big fan of films that remind audiences just how scary the past was. There are few people living who would survive if they accidentally bumped into Peabody’s Wayback Machine and landed in any time era more than a hundred years previous. Black Death looks to capture a lot of the same fun of previous Magnet release Centurion — mixed in with a bit of the upcoming Nic Cage historical horror film Season of the Witch.

Magnet will release Black Death On Demand beginning February 4 before the film has a limited theatrical release on March 11.
