Spoiler Warnings: What Happens With The Red Entity And Atrocitus In Green Lantern #61 By Geoff Johns?

Spoilers

A man named James Kim is at a state execution, watching the man who killed his daughter about to be executed. The man taunts him with his last words, and James rage goes through the roof. This is enough for the Butcher to attempt to claim him. The Spectre stops him temporarily, but Atrocitus arrival allows the Entity time to possess it’s host.

The now Butcher empowered James King proceeds to beat the Spectre’s face off with a giant staff before executing the man who murdered King’s daughter.

Atrocitus quickly rips the Butcher from its host and with the help of the Sepctre stores it inside of his battery (much like Larfleeze had done with the Orange Entity), for safe passage back to Ysmault.

Spectre then decides to judge James Kim for the murder he just committed while possesed, but Atrocitus argues that if Spectre wants to judge Kim, he must judge Atrocitus first. He attempts to pass judgement on the leader of the Red Lanterns, but finds that his mission against Krona is a holy one, and that he can not touch Atrocitus during the duration.
