Bellator moves broadcasts to Saturday, Season 4 begins March 5th

Bellator announced today that they will no longer be carrying their shows on Thursday nights and that instead they will be airing them live on MTV2 from a more traditional Saturday night slot. They also made official their first show of the new season, Bellator 35, which will take place on March 5th from the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in LeMoore, CA. The only fight that is official for that card at this time is a welterweight tournament contest between Jay Hieron and Steve Carl. It is believed that most, if not all, of the other matches will be from the opening round of that same division’s tournament.

No time was announced for the show though Strikeforce already has a show planned for that night most likely at 10pm EST. Bellator would most likely avoid a direct head to head confrontation with the competition so rumors are that the main card and television portion would kickoff at 8pm EST.

Currently the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino is the home to its very own successful MMA organization Tachi Palace Fights. Sources have said that one part of the deal in bringing Bellator 35 to this venue involves the people from Tachi Place Fights helping Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney book the show. This will be the first Bellator show to take place from there and only the second to be from California. MTV2 will be Bellator’s third home in four seasons as they previously had deals with ESPN Deportes and Fox Sports.
