Little is known about J.J. Abrams’ Super 8. The setting is 1979 and will be a homage/tribute to Steven Spielberg’s science-fiction classics from the late ’70s and early ’80s. Not surprisingly, Spielberg serves as an executive producer.The story follows a group of children as they film a movie with a Super 8 camera but while they are filming, they spot an alien escape from an Area 51 cargo train and it runs loose in their small town. Elle Fanning (Somewhere), Kyle Chandler (TV’s Friday Night Lights), and Amanda Michalka star.
