Kenny Florian Headed to UFC Featherweight Division

News

Kenny Florian announced today via Twitter that he will indeed be dropping down into UFC’s Featherweight division. The statement reads:

“I’ll indeed be fighting at 145lbs. It is a great new challenge. Goal is to get belt at FW & I’ll be back at 155. TY all for the support.”

Florian was a two-time UFC Lightweight title contender and also works as an analyst on ESPN’s “MMA Live” program.

Jose Aldo is the current UFC titleholder, as he was awarded that title after being the final WEC lightweight champion before the WEC/UFC merger. Aldo will defend the title in April at UFC 130 against Mark Hominick.
