News

Yesterday, UFC officially announced the new name for Newark, New Jersey’s upcoming fight card: UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones as the bout agreement has been signed for the March 19th fight. After a career-defining win over Ryan Bader at this past Saturday’s UFC 126, Jon Jones was joined in the octagon by Joe Rogan who made him aware that due to Rashad Evans’ knee injury, the company was looking for a replacement to fight Mauricio “Shogun” Rua. Saturday, Jones was officially offered the opportunity to fight for the UFC Light Heavyweight title and he accepted immediately

Rua revealed this weekend that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was offered the shot first, but Jackson had declined the opportunity. Instead, the 23-year-old Jones gets the opportunity of a lifetime at UFC 128.
