Over 40,000 Tickets Already Sold For UFC 129 In Toronto

News

The Fight Club presale for UFC 129 has broken all records to a staggering extent with over 40,000 tickets sold for the organization’s Ontario debut in Toronto’s Rogers Centre headlined by Georges St. Pierre vs. Jake Shields. Although tickets do not go on general release until Saturday, UFC 129 has nearly doubled the North American record for attendance at a MMA event. The UFC had promised to look into changing the configuration of the Rogers Centre to allow for more tickets to be sold if they quickly sold out, UFC Canada President Tom Wright confirmed that they would be proceeding with these plans. However its unlikely that the final attendance would surpass 50,000. One thing to bear in mind is that UFC Canadian events have been victims of scalping operations before so 40,000 tickets necessarily means that many people have booked their seats at what will be  the biggest combat sports event in the history of Canada.
