News

In rare good news for boxing fans HBO has managed to circument the various options it had signed to secure last year’s title unificaton fight between light heavyweights Chad Dawson and Jean Pascal to successfully to make the instant rematch between Pascal and Bernard Hopkins. The Ring, WBC and IBO Champion went to a controvesial draw with the forty-five year old surefire future Hall of Famer back in December. Pascal had been placed under severe pressure by Hopkins’ promoter Golden Boy to give Hopkins a rematch, something it was thought the champion would struggle to do given the agreement he had in place with HBO and Dawson for a 2011 rematch. Instead the premium cable station has brokered a three-way deal between the three fighters for the instant rematch to go ahead with Dawson fighting on the undercard. Should Dawson win that match then he will face whoever emerges as champion.
