10 Thoughts on WWE (John Cena, The Miz, The Undertaker, CM Punk)

Columns, Top Story

This week in the WWE was a big one. Everything for WrestleMania has started shaping up and man has it been an exciting week in the WWE or what? Here are the 10 Thoughts for this week:

1. Smackdown started off it’s 600th show in a big way with the 12 man tag team match. It was a great opening to the show and the crowd was really into it with all the biggest stars competing in it. It was definitely a good match all around and certainly did not disappoint the live crowd.

2. Am I the only one who thought it was obvious Teddy Long was going to come back during the World Heavyweight Title Coronation? It doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing, in fact, the way that whole angle went down with Vickie Guerrero revealing Dolph Ziggler attacked Teddy Long was pretty good.

3. The World Heavyweight Championship match between Dolph Ziggler and Edge was a short one but I personally think it was a decent match. Both Superstars really seemed like they wanted the Title and made the final match of the night more entertaining.

4. The Smackdown Elimination Chamber was without a doubt a match to remember. Rey Mysterio may have stolen the whole show with the bumps he took in this one. Also the finish between Mysterio and Edge was another major reason why this match was so great.

5. Jerry Lawler vs. The Miz was easily the most surprising match of the night. By that I mean it was a surprise that this match turned out to be such a good one. I wouldn’t say Lawler still “has it” like Ricky Steamboat does, but he put on a great 12 minute match with The Miz.

6. Raw’s Elimination Chamber was also very enjoyable. CM Punk and John Morrison were easily the biggest two factors in making this a spectacular match. Morrison’s bumps in this match and Punk’s facial expressions and skill in the ring were great. John Cena winning it seemed quite predictable although it made sense considering he is feuding with The Miz.

7. So what exactly was the purpose of Alberto Del Rio showing up on Raw? Was he supposed to have a match with Kofi Kingston? It was certainly something that had me wondering for a few seconds after the beating he gave to Kofi.

8. 2-21-11 was finally revealed and it turned out to be The Undertaker as expected. Triple H showed up only seconds after Undertaker got into the ring. No words had to be spoken here to let everyone know HHH was challenging Taker to a match at WrestleMania. The stare down between these two said it all and the buildup to that match is going to be great in the next few weeks.

9. John Cena’s response to The Rock was nowhere close to being considered PG. However,  it was an awesome throwback to when Cena battle rapped everybody back in ’03.

10. WWE has to quit teaming up two Superstars who are in major feuds. It’s been done too many times now and has not ever done anything for the Superstars involved. Smart decision to have Miz and Cena lose the titles after The Corre used their rematch clause. If Slater and Gabriel only had the titles for 24 hours, that would have made them look extremely as part of The Corre.

Lastly I want to thank Pulse Glazer and Matthew Michaels for giving me the opportunity to write my first “10 Thoughts” article here on Pulse Wrestling. I’ve been a huge WWE/F fan since I’m 4 years old and certainly enjoy writing about these guys and the stuff they do in the ring every week. I’m hoping to improve here on Pulse Wrestling and make this a weekly article everybody will enjoy.
