Deal Alert: The Hannibal Lecter Blu-ray Collection is Amazon’s DOTW

News

The online retailer Amazon is offering up another generous Blu-ray Deal of the Week, this time with one of the most infamous cannibals in cinematic history: Hannibal Lecter.

The Hannibal Lecter Collection, which is on sale this week for $26.99 (61% off its suggested retail price), contains three movies from the Lecter universe, including the 1986 Michael Mann thriller Manhunter, the 1991 Academy Award winner for Best Picture, Best Director (Jonathan Demme), Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins), Best Actress (Jodie Foster), and Best Adapted Screenplay (Ted Tally), The Silence of the Lambs, and Ridley Scott’s Hannibal (2001).

Though this isn’t the complete collection – it’s missing Hannibal Rising or Red Dragon – it is an excellent opportunity for anyone who hasn’t experienced the franchise to get initiated, as well as an inexpensive way for fans of the series to upgrade to HD.

This Deal of the Week is valid from now through March 5, 2011.

No villain has stirred so many to such heights of fear: Hannibal, the brilliant psychologist with a taste for the finer things in life – and the macabre in death – is best served up on high-definition Blu-ray! Riveting performances from Joan Allen, Brian Cox, Jodie Foster, Anthony Hopkins, Ray Liotta, Julianne Moore, Gary Oldman, William Petersen, and more, make this triple helping of Hannibal one you should never let get away.
