Of all the places to find news, PWInsider is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has been cast in DC’s next animated DVD release. We’ve talked previously about Green Lantern: Emerald Knights, which features Nathan Fillion at Hal Jordan, and is set to release in time to coincide with the release of the Green Lantern movie, which stars Ryan Reynolds. Piper is, according to the report, going to be voicing a bounty hunter named Bolphunga the Unrelenting. Bolphunga first appeared in one of the classic Green Lantern Corps stories of Alan Moore, “Mogo Doesn’t Socialize”, which also introduced Lantern Mogo, who has been a staple of the Corps ever since. Bolphunga has also appeared sporadically in the current volume of Green Lantern Corps, generally feuding with former lead character Guy Gardner.
But if Bolphunga is in this movie, then it’s a solid bet that we’re going to get a version of “Mogo Doesn’t Socialize” on the DVD, which is freaking awesome!
