Shinya Aoki and Lyle Beerbohm have agreed to face one another April 9th at Strikeforce’s upcoming championship double-header in San Diego, California. The main event of the evening features Nick Diaz putting Strikeforce Welterweight title on the line against Paul Daley and Gilbert Melendez will defend his lightweight title against Tatsuya Kawajiri.
Aoki makes his return to Strikeforce after a year long absence since he lost a lopsided decision to lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez. In the time since that bout, Aoki has gone 3-0 in MMA competition, including a win over the previously-mentioned Tatsuya Kawajiri.
Beerbohm is coming off of his first career loss, a unanimous decision, to Pat Healy at Strikeforce Challengers in February.
