The first fight for UFC on Versus 4 on June 26th has been put together and it is a heavyweight battle between Pat Barry (6-2) vs. Cheick Kongo (15-6-2). There has been no word on whether the fight will take place on the televised portion of the card or not.
Barry is coming off a unanimous decision win in January over Joey Beltran. Since entering the promotion in December 2008 Barry has alternated wins and losses for his five fights. In June of last year he was submitted by Mirko Cro Cop and managed to break his hand and his foot in the process. Kongo, meanwhile, is coming off of a unanimous draw to Travis Browne in a fight that he would have won had it not been for the point he had deducted for holding on to Browne’s shorts.
The UFC has yet to announce a location or venue for the event.
