Showtime Still Controls Strikeforce Production, Yet To Speak With Zuffa

News

At today’s conference call Zuffa confirmed that Showtime continue to control the presentation of Strikeforce events with the premium cable network continuing to determine the production values of the broadcasts. This control will include providing the commentary team for the shows with it likely that the announce team will stay the same. They both stressed that it was business as usual and revealed that the deal with Showtime lasts until 2014.  Interestingly Showtime and Zuffa have yet to speak to each other since the purchase which seems bizarre given that Fertitta and White sealed the deal to buy the promotion Friday night/Saturday morning. Its still unclear whether the two companies can effectively co-operate, especially given the inability of the two to coordinate a joint announcement of the purchase as a sign of unity.
