Penn/Fitch II Confirmed for UFC 132

News

Despite rumors of Fitch asking for a title shot and Penn contemplating retirement, Dana White announced that the two will once again face each other at UFC 132 on July 2nd, 2011.

BJ Penn and Jon Fitch fought to a controversial split draw at UFC 127 in a bout that was supposed to decide the number one contender for the UFC Welterweight Title. Both competitors were vocal in their post-fight interviews. Fitch claimed he still wanted a title shot, and stated on The Underground Forums “I won that fight.” BJ Penn believed quite the opposite, as he was outright in saying that he lost the fight. Both men will have a chance at redemption, and it looks like neither man want the fight to go the distance. On the rematch, Dana White commented, “Both fighters look to keep it out of the hands of the judges this time.”
