Joseph Gordon-Levitt Heading to Gotham City, Confirmed for The Dark Knight Rises

Casting News, News, Projects

Back in February there were discussions that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was in talks to join the cast of The Dark Knight Rises, where he would reunite with Inception director Christopher Nolan. The Playlist (via Variety) has confirmed the hire, but his role has yet to be revealed.

The actor has been rumored to be a member of the League of Shadows, possibly as Black Mask. Or he may not be a villain at all. Can you say Jean-Paul Valley, the character who assumed Batman’s mantle after The Dark Knight had his back broken at the hands of Bane (to be played by Tom Hardy in The Dark Knight Rises) in the Knightfall arc.

In other casting news, Juno Temple, star of the indie release Kaboom, may be gunning for a role. Word has it that she’ll be playing a “street-smart Gotham girl.” Though it could be Christopher Nolan just screwing with Batman fanboys. He likes to do that.
