Tom Hooper closing in on next film: ‘Les Miserables’

News, Projects, Rumors

A day after his Oscar-winning film gets a second release with a PG-13 rating (and cut), Academy Award winning director Tom Hooper of The King’s Speech has set his sights on a new project: Les Miserables.

Reported by Deadline Hollywood last night, Hooper is looking at this as potentially his next project. Nothing is set in stone, however.

What does it mean? It’s an interesting followup to an Academy-Award winning film and one that comes with a great reputation and (most likely) a small budget. With The King’s Speech past $350 million worldwide already on a $15 million budget this could be a great follow up hit for Hooper.
