Golden Boy Attempts To Re-Sign JM Marquez With A Shot At Zab Judah

News

Faced with rumors that their veteran Mexican star Juan Manuel Marquez was tempted to follow Shane Mosley’s example and sign with Top Rank in a bid to secure a third fight against Manny Pacquiao, Golden Boy have made the three-weight world champion an offer that may just keep him away from Bob Arum’s clutches. In conjunction with Lou DiBella they’ve proposed to put Marquez up against the newly crowned IBF light-welterweight Zab Judah, a fight that not only would give Marquez a very real chance to become the first Mexican to win world titles in four different weights but also potentially set up a mouth-watering unification bout with the winner of the Amir Khan vs. Timothy Bradley fight that is planned for July 23rd (providing Khan can defeat Paul McCloskey on April 16th). It remains to be seen whether such a scenario would be enough to get Marquez to potentially give up his chance to finally defeat the P4P King.
