Tyson Fury To Face Former World Champion Hasim Rahman

News

With Amir Khan’s undercard having suffered many cancellations over the past few days, former English Champion Tyson Fury has stepped into the breach with an intriguing fight against former world champion Hasim Rahman. Fury is unproven but with his physical gifts and under tutelage of Emmanuel Steward he could become a genuine contender in a weak heavyweight division. After an attempt to secure a fight against Francois Botha failed due to the British Board of Control refusing to sanction the aging former heavyweight champion, Fury was believed to be preparing to challenge Derek Chisora for the Londoner’s British and Commonwealth Titles. That fight is scheduled to go to purse bids in the next week and a victory against Rahman would certainly raise Fury’s profile before that highly anticipated match.
