Apparently Roland Emmerich has run out of ways to destroy landmarks as he moves from films like 2012 into a Shakespearean drama of sorts with Anonymous.
Trying to answer the question of “Who wrote Shakespeare’s plays if not the man himself?” plunges Emmerich into a world of Elizabethean politics and intrigue. A political thriller, Anonymous makes a case for a rather unorthodox theory about the identity of the man who wrote Shakespeare’s plays if it wasn’t the man himself.
The film is scheduled for release September 30, 2011
