Cloak and Dagger Aren’t So Cloak And Dagger Thanks To Nick Spencer

News, Projects, Top Story

Steve Morris over at Comics Vanguard broke the word that my favorite duo in comics, Cloak and Dagger, are headed back to New York City. In a three-issue event tying into the upcoming Spider Island, the luscious light-wielder and sentry of the shadows will be penned by Iron Man 2.0 and Morning Glories genius Nick Spencer. Emma Rios (The Gauntlet, Osborn) provides the visual flair to this celebrated return, and I can’t wait to see how this duo handles that duo.

If you don’t know, Cloak and Dagger debuted in 1982’s Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #64, and are (sadly) mostly recognized for  their supporting roles in the 1990s “Maximum Carnage” event and video games. While they’ve had three miniseries over the decades (thank you, Rick Leonardi), they resurfaced in The Runaways and recently got a shot at fame in the March 2010 one-shot by Stuart Moore and Mark Brooks.

And of course, in today’s age the news wouldn’t be complete without Tweetification from Spencer himself.
