Former ROH Talent Larry Sweeney Passes Away

News

Per Chris Hero’s twitter feed, former ROH talent and independent wrestler “Sweet & Sour” Larry Sweeney, (Alex Whybrow) passed away this morning.  He was 29.

A former winner of CHIKARA’s Young Lions Cup, Sweeney was also perpetually the “ICW/ICWA Texarkana Television Champion,” a title Sweeney held virtually his entire career, as a 27 time champion.  Sweeney was last seen in Ring of Honor at their Final Battle 2009 iPPV, where he joined the commentary team during the broadcast.  In August 2010, he wrestled his first match since June 2009, for Illinois based All American Wrestling, losing to Dan Lawrence.  Sweeney also returned to CHIKARA in the summer of 2010, under the mask of Vökoder.

The thoughts and prayers of everyone at InsidePulse go out to him, his friends and this family in this time.
