Scott Coker confirmed this weekend that Strikeforce is looking at making Fedor Emelianenko vs. Dan Henderson for its July or August event. This fight had first been mooted as a possible matchup at the beginning of match with the idea being that Fedor would move down in weight and challenge the light heavyweight champion. However it looks like the rubenesque Emelianenko has rejected the idea of moving down to 205Ibs and so so now discussions are ongoing about making the fight at heavyweight or a slightly lower catchweight. Quite what the point is of making a small light heavyweight like Henderson fight above 205Ibs is difficult to see but a contest between the two former Pride FC champions would be a blockbuster main event for a Showtime presentation.
