Randy Couture To Fight His Last Fight Against Lyoto Machida At UFC 129

News

At today’s press conference for UFC 129, Randy Couture announced that his fight against Lyoto Machida would be the last of his career, whether he won or lost. Naturally the news has been greeted with some scepticism given that Couture has retired several times already, most notably in 2006 after losing to Chuck Liddell for a second time. But at 47 years old its hard to see how Couture would be able to resurrect his career if he was to follow through on his plan to retire. If so he would bring to an end a Hall of Fame career that has seen him break numerous records including most world titles won, oldest man to win a world title and being the first to win world titles at two weights.
