CB’s World: Last Minute Pre-Show Thoughts on WWE Extreme Rules

Columns, Top Story

Here we are on Sunday night with WWE Backlash Extreme Rules just about to get started (or by the time I finish this it will be minutes in).

So I give to you my last minute thoughts on WWE Extreme Rules:

1. Extreme Rules, but please NO BLOOD. Because while bleeding in wrestling sports entertainment is archaic, trash cans and kendo sticks have not lost their luster. But hey, 40 is the new 20, right?

2. Guaranteed Title Change. This one ALMOST sold me on buying the PPV, but I decided to wait and see who wins the Big Gold Belt, and if I like what I read I can always grab the replay. (Hint: I am a devout fan of the person I want to win)

3. Loser Leaves WWE, a.k.a. KHARMA’s a b**** big woman trying to make an iMPACT. Oh, Layla, you’ve got me on my knees, so I beg you please, LET KHARMA HELP YOU TONIGHT. Michelle, please rest peacefully indefinitely.

4. Break the Walls Down? Could we see Chris Jericho return tonight to SAVE US VINCE? It could be perfect timing, unlike some of his ballroom routines (don’t blame me, blame the voters!)

5. Tonight’s show is brought to you by the Number 6-1-9 and the Letter M. Yup, I think tonight will belong to Rey Mysterio and The Miz. Rey will get his revenge win over Cody Rhodes, and Miz will retain over John Cena and John Morrison R-Truth. Don’t know what I mean, check out my and everyone else’s Rasslin’ Roundtable picks. (Special shout-out to frequent commenter Joseph Hargrove, who also provided his picks in the comments thread. You the man Joseph!)

Well, that’s it from me, for now.

Oh, I almost forgot tonight’s trick question:

How many RKOs does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a storyline?

The world may never know. The answer is — as stated by Rodney Dangerfield in Back To School — FOUR!

Until next time — and ENJOY THE SHOW — CB.
