Because the cast of How I Met Your Mother is exceedingly talented, the writers can throw out a gag–the effects of different alcohols in tonight’s episode–and the cast will deliver the rest. There’s not much going on plot-wise other than Marshall joining Zoey’s quest and Barney being mad, but we see plenty of hilarious scenes of them drunk. Robin and Lily face off against a group of girls, which was really random in the midst of the episode, but had some good scenes.
Ted and Zoe confront a serious issue, their inability to see eye to eye on the Arcadian. When asked, Zoe replies, with great emotion, that she stayed there as a child so it has sentimental value to her. Her answer makes sense, and is plausible enough, but then again, the Zoe we met at the beginning of the season was a manipulator.
