The Rock Changes Talent Agencies, Signs With WME

News

The Rock is cooking something all right, and that something is money. Helping Fast Five have a big opening worldwide, Dwayne Johnson has decided to have the William Morris Endeavor (WME) talent agency represent him. Previously, the wrestler-cum-actor had a longstanding relationship with agent Darren Statt and followed the rep when he moved from Endeavor to UTA to CAA.

Johnson has been vocal that he would like to have his Hobbs character from Fast Five appear in the sixth installment of the franchise, and he’s pretty much guaranteed a spin-off vehicle for his character as well. Johnson will next be seen in the September 2011 release Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, headlining the sequel with Josh Hutcherson (who reprises his role from Journey to the Center of the Earth), High School Musical‘s Vanessa Hudgens, Michael Caine and Sex and the City‘s Kristen Davis.

From there, Johnson will star in Snitch, which moves into production beginning in June. Also, he recently became attached to a Charley Pride biopic.

Just as long as his movie slate is clear by April 1, 2012, as that is the date in which The Rock will step back into the squared circle and face John Cena in the headlining bout of WrestleMania XXVIII, emanating live from Miami Gardens, Florida.
