If Angelina Jolie in Salt wasn’t salty enough, then Sony Pictures may have the female buttkicker for you. Today, the studio unveiled the trailer for the upcoming release Colombiana starring Zoe Saldana as a stone-cold assassin.
In Colombiana, Zoe Saldana plays a young woman who, after witnessing her parents’ murder as a child in Bogota, grows up to be a stone-cold assassin. She works for her uncle as a hitman by day, but her personal time is spent engaging in vigilante murders that she hopes will lead her to her ultimate target: the mobster responsible for her parents’ death.
From Luc Besson, the writer-producer-director of such films as La Femme Nikita, The Professional, and The Fifth Element, Colombiana is directed by Olivier Megaton who, as it was announced this week, will be directing Liam Neeson in the sequel to Taken.
Colombiana will unload its arsenal on audiences on September 2nd.
