Is there any high profile film where Bradley Cooper isn’t up for these days? He’s up for the title role in The Crow remake and already had a runaway hit with Limitless. Now he’s in negotiations for Alex Proyas’ adaptation of Milton’s “Paradise Lost” in one of the title roles as Lucifer.
That’s per Variety, at least.
With The Hangover 2 arriving in theaters shortly, this appears to be another blockbuster epic. “Paradise Lost” tells the story of the epic war in heaven between archangels Michael and Lucifer, including the latter’s role in Adam and Eve’s fall from grace. It will be crafted as an action vehicle that will include aerial warfare, possibly shot in 3D.
What does this mean? Bradley Cooper is that rare phase of an actor’s career where a couple of massive hits could turn him from burgeoning star into an actual star. With The Crow potentially on the horizon, and The Hangover 2 most likely to be another hit, a couple of hits beyond this and he’s up there with Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, et al. A couple flops and he’s back to making The Hangover 3 to maintain his status.
