Eddie Bravo and Royler Gracie to Rematch at ADCC 2011

News

The 2011 ADCC (Abu Dhabi Combat Club) will host the rematch of the now famous 2003 bout between Eddie Bravo and Royler Gracie.

This was confirmed in a status from ADCC’s official Facebook page:

“ADCC will make 2 “masters” superfights on World Championships.

Fight time 10min
Eddie Bravo VS Royler Gracie”

At the 2003 ADCC No-Gi Grappling Tournament, Eddie Bravo and Royler Gracie grappled in a back-and-forth battle where Bravo ended up catching Gracie in a triangle-choke, forcing him to tap out. Even though he didn’t go on to win the tournament, the victory over Gracie built enough of a foundation for Bravo to make a career out of teaching jiu-jitsu.

Both parties have been trying to line up a rematch for years now, but nothing ever came of it. Neither Eddie Bravo or Royler Gracie’s people have commented on the rematch being announced yet.
